I think guys like these that engineer thinly-veiled killing machines that donโt exist yet should be court mandated to fly into the sun carried aloft by a swarm of their micro-drones like some sorta Silicon Valley Icarus
First thoughts on The Odyssey.
There is a scene at the very beginning of the film in which, in the absence of his father, Telemachus is being trained by the blind Eumaeus, Odysseusโs loyal servant. Eumaeus warns that the reason Telemachus is constantly being bested by his sparring partner is that his defense is too quick. He must move more slowly, open his chest, invite the attack, and use his opponentโs momentum against him.
In the spirit of Odysseus, deep trickery is at work in this film.
Donโt let the apparent compromises fool you. The Odyssey is an absolute triumph. It is made with a profound love for the source material, filled with deep pathos: the return of the father, the elevation of the son, and the restoration of proper order despite all the sins perpetrated by the guardians of that order.
It is a film about the end of one world and the beginning of another; about remembrance, return, and the perpetuation of an order after a long wandering through chaos.
Itโs The Odyssey.
@Spinoza1229@NamesHunter Odysseus says this in a very specific context. The movie itself doesnโt think or show Sinon as the greatest anything. Sinon is a pawn that Odysseus uses and gets slaughtered for it. Hm.
