Excellent new piece by Brooks Wieszczek about two great young filmmakers up on @splittoothmedia.
Read about the films of Roy Gentes and Mateo Krygowski! https://t.co/3My5PnNmmy
Roy Gentes and Mateo Krygowski have been pushing grainy lo-fi imagery to new emotional extremes in their recent short films. Brooks Wieszczek explores their work leading up to the pair of films they made in collaboration: https://t.co/wkieoNbv4J
Charles Pinion’s Killbillies screenplay will be shipping soon! Check out the full story of the great lost underground film of the 1990s. Here’s a first peek at the never-before-seen color photos included with this set:
New writing up at @splittoothmedia on Jack Starrett’s The Dion Brothers. Continuing my Stacy Keach series, I take a look at this quietly influential crime comedy, one of the funniest films of the 1970s and a masterpiece of the cinema of desperation.

New writing up on Split Tooth today! @BigVinVader continues his series on Stacy Keach with a look at 1974's 'The Dion Brothers.' Keach delivers one of his finest performances alongside Frederic Forrest in this quietly influential crime comedy. https://t.co/3vfWHkalyj
These posts get no engagement and it's a niche subject, but my second book is out. I co-authored with a former professor, my sections offering detailed analysis of cinematography in the films. Academic, but still covering some genre titles like The Lure and Tower. A Bright Day
Coming later this year from Xposure Video: the first officially-licensed releases from Massachusetts’ Zones of Evil! Conceived by Bryan Fortin (known for his Motern Media roles), these cable access SOV productions are some of my favorite discoveries and deserve a wider audience.
Killbillies was a white whale for years, so it’s been incredible having a hand in finally making it available. Charles Pinion is one of the great SOV artists (and nicest guys), and working with him on this project has been a dream. Don’t sleep on this!

A year ago today, we celebrated our site’s anniversary by publishing a career-spanning interview with musician/actor Tony Baker. Yesterday, Tony passed away. If you are unfamiliar with Tony’s movies and music, please seek them out. A truly unique artist. https://t.co/pPlccsY4Nf
Today is Split Tooth's 8th anniversary! To celebrate, issue No. 2 of the Split Tooth zine is available now in the ST online store! Get your copy here: https://t.co/Ee2fFvobVH
For @splittoothmedia’s 8th anniversary, here’s a thread of some of my favorite pieces I’ve done for the site! There’s plenty more where these came from, and a whole roster of great writers!
My thorough look at enigmatic Seattle SOV artist Rick Fahr:

Ahead of our second festival screening at the Beloit International Film Festival this weekend, I did a deep dive interview about HEKLA w/ @aaronbartusk (THE YARDLEY BOYS). Eternal thanks to @splittoothmedia for championing independent film!
With a new movie, 'Hekla,' and book about Bob Dylan’s films now out, @whitecitycinema joins @aaronbartusk on the Make More Movies Podcast to talk about developing style and taking chances as a director. https://t.co/lQa91a22bH
Still in a daze from an unreal weekend in Portland. Thanks to everyone who came to the screenings/events. Twisted Issues opened my eyes years ago and I was honored to spend more time with Charles Pinion, meet @skullfaceastro, hang with @bertww65 and @CraigSplitTooth (best hosts)
Thank you to everyone who came out for TWISTED ISSUES at The Hollywood Theatre with Charles Pinion and @BigVinVader! Cable Wells put on another fantastic Rotten Revival screening. Let’s do this again!
