Best piece of advice that I got for my viva was to remember that you know the contents of your thesis far better than the examiners. Second best was that you don't have to know it inside out, it's ok to pause to look things up or say you don't know.

@sandrietta That's not one I've heard of before, I shall have to take a look at it. Yeah messy genomes are a pain, especially if they're full of repeats and low complexity regions between the genes.

I was fortunate to be able to contribute a small amount of work to this paper - my first paper was on T. vivax popgen so it seems fitting that my first contribution to a Nature paper was as well. Congrats to the rest of the team who did a massive amount of work to get it out.

@Reebola95 Of course I expect the usual rules still apply with regards giving you adequate notice so they can't just show up and demand access etc.

@Reebola95 Usual IANAL applies but the wording in Section 2 on this page (https://t.co/09BdUZKwy6) suggests yes unless you are shielding or infected but it may depend on why they want access - it specifically mentions safety inspections and repair but not routine rental inspections.

@Reebola95 My question would be what are you trying to visualise in it? SNP density? Whether SNPs are in in genes or not? Also how many samples and do you want to summarise as a group or show each sample individually?

@liverpoolcsd Thanks. I've been able to resolve the issue, had to clear cache and cookies. Had tried that yesterday to no avail so whatever the source of the issue it seems to have cleared itself up now.
