Conservatives and Bloc Ask Lobbying Commissioner to Investigate Carney's Condo Bailout, Naming Vancouver's “Condo King” and Liberal Party Chair Who Works for Developer https://t.co/Ab0KBLjtGJ
Did Mark Carney and the Liberal government break the law?
This morning, I sent a joint letter, along with Bloc MP Luc Thériault, to the Lobbying Commissioner requesting an investigation into the billion-dollar developer bailout in British Columbia.
Instead of allowing condo prices to moderate, the federal Liberals and provincial NDP used taxpayer money to bail out their wealthy developer friends, keeping housing unaffordable and out of reach for the average Canadian.
There are still so many unanswered questions about this sudden and unexpected policy announcement: Where did it come from? Who petitioned the government for it? Who stands to benefit? And did unregistered, and potentially illegal, lobbying for this bailout occur?
Canadians deserve answers and transparency—not another Liberal cover-up.

BREAKING: I’ve written to the Ethics Committee Chair calling for an urgent investigation into Carney’s condo bailout.
Who lobbied to force people who can’t afford groceries to bail out billionaire Liberal donors and powerbrokers?
We are fighting to stop the Liberal Club from getting richer by making you poorer.
If you needed 95 seconds of explaining the whole housing bailout that's not actually a bailout, but actually is...

@AlderLaneEggs Bob Rennie, the marketer the industry calls its “condo king,” is no newcomer to a Vancouver condo bailout. The city’s troubled Olympic Village — a bailout that put taxpayers on the hook for some $740 million before it landed in receivership on Robertson’s watch in 2010 — was relaunched for sale the following year under Robertson’s council, with Rennie brought in to market the unsold units. As this writer reported in The Province in 2014, Rennie went on to organize an exclusive $25,000-a-seat lunch giving developers private access to Robertson, an arrangement that drew outrage as a case study in how real-estate money fills a governing party’s coffers. A decade on, Rennie has, by his own on-record account, lobbied Carney on a plan to have the federal housing agency backstop foreign-investor condo purchases, ahead of Carney’s federal election win. He has also hosted Liberal fundraisers featuring Carney as guest — one last February, a month after the Prime Minister returned from Beijing and announced a new strategic partnership with China.
None of this is alleged corruption. It is documented proximity.
Pierre Poilievre put it more bluntly. Carney, he said, “seems to have a bailout for anyone who’s part of the Liberal club of power brokers, corporate insiders and lobbyists.” He is the opposition leader — but the logic is hard to dispel. Carney has been lobbied by, and has filled his fundraising coffers at events hosted by, Vancouver developers who prospered selling condos into offshore demand, whose most prominent figure has pressed him to keep that market open, even at prices far beyond what Canadians earn.
The Connection That Caused The Carney Condo Bailout? Was It Gregor Robertson?
Was it Gregor's idea to Bailout all the Developers he worked with & knew so well when he was the Mayor of Vancouver?
Because there was no similar Bailout in the GTA
Did Gregor prompt the Bailout?
The Carney Condo Bailout Fucktastrophe! I Won't Leave This One Alone: It's Just Too WRONG
To quote the Prime Minister: "Builders dont want to sell at a loss"
Doesn't mean the Canadian Taxpayer needs to make sure Developers get full price for their Garbage Units at crazy prices
What's The WORST Thing About The Carney Condo Bailout? The Developers He's Bailing Out Made Fortunes for 20 Years
And everyone who keeps suggesting it's smart to buy instant Low Rent, Non-Market affordable homes instead of waiting for Build Canada Modular Yurts is stupid

The “condo king”, organized a $25,000 per plate lunch, with Greg Robertson, who is now the Liberal Minister of Housing
The same “condo king” that benefits from the $3.2 billion bailout Carney just gave to wealthy condo developers
It’s all right there bro

Alto is the most expensive project in Canadian history, at $90 billion, or $8,000 per each Canadian family.
Minister Champagne's partner stands to materially benefit.
He says he recused himself, yet he included Alto in his budget, voted for it, and advocated for it.
Our Conservative team is demanding answers now: https://t.co/chxBj9JaKF
The Liberal finance minister claims he recused himself in September 2025 of the $90 billion Alto project, for which his wife is the vice president.
Yet here he is promoting the project in Senate testimony 6 months later. And here he is voting for it in the House of Commons. There it is in the budget he presented. And there is no recusal record on the Ethics Commissioner’s website.
Nothing adds up.
$90 billion is at stake.
Tell the truth, Minister.
We know it, and former Goldman Sachs investment banker Carney knows it: Canada's Public Sector is bloated and its growth, unsustainable.
Since January 2019, a whopping 41% of all job growth has been from various levels of Government. Bananas!
