'It tells us nothing about what the finances of an independent Scotland would be like'
Professor Richard Murphy breaks down why GERS figures aren't what they're made out to be 🔎
Our high streets can thrive again and this is proof.
Community-led organisations like Our Union Street in Aberdeen are making a real difference - and with @scotgov funding, we are helping them build on that.
We’re hearing a lot about Andy Burnham’s focus on “the North”. Here’s a wee reminder of just how far “north” Manchester is.
It’s in the south, marked in red.
I was there for his first away games in Belgium and Russia. We were thumped. Nobody could have imagined we’d go on to make two Euros and a World Cup. Bairns all over our nation are now running around in Scotland tops - that’s a legacy worth having. Thanks for the memories.

A childhood dream fulfilled but scoring Scotland’s winner in our first World Cup game in 28 years is just bonkers! The support last night and back home is just as expected. Quality! Let’s keep going!! 🏴🏴
Ross Greer absolutely *shredded* Scottish Labour and Martin Geissler on Radio BritNat Breakfast this morning when interviewed about Anas Sarwar's inquiry stunt. The interview starts off with the last night's racist protests. Text book interview from Greer. SNP take note!
Massively disappointed by your criticism of Sturgeon
She was arrested, investigated and released without charge
The only way your criticism of her stands up is if you're suggesting the police got it wrong
Worse, you aligned yourself with Jeremy Hunt, the man who trashed so much of the NHS
As a doctor, it's a genuine shame that you chose to align yourself with him instead of with a woman proven innocent by the police
It's a genuine shame you chose party politics over integrity and supporting a victim
In her attack on Sturgeon, Rosena Allin-Khan declares of herself & fellow panellist Jeremy Hunt, "for hard working MPs like myself & Jeremy.. trustworthy, reliable"
Hunt, who as a Tory cabinet minister exploited a Tory tax loophole to buy 7 luxury flats & then didn't declare it.
Towards the end of this interview Laura Kuenssberg asks Nicola Sturgeon if she'll pay out of her own pocket to recover the funds embezzled by her ex-husband 🤷♂️
Sturgeon was arrested, investigated, and released without charge
Peter Murrell pleaded guilty to the embezzlement, so he bears criminal responsibility
Spouses are not automatically liable for each other's crimes under UK law unless there's evidence of joint enterprise or prior knowledge
Laura Kuenssberg knows this but she said it anyway
One of the most powerful women in British politics brought down not because of what she did or didn't do, but because of what her ex-husband did
And one of the most influential high profile journalists covering British politics, not showing support to her, but exploiting the fact that she was a victim, to bring her down even further
Thomas Kerr being an MSP feels a lot like watching an audition on X factor when someone has been told they can sing by their family, and Simon put them on through to the TV rounds for novelty value.
