Football should bring people together, not shut them out.
For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right.
This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club.
Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match.
I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.
So tedious, predictable, and embarrassing for the Mayor of London to do this every time President Trump comes to town. He may get the ‘likes’ he craves from the woke brigade, but I suspect a lot of Londoners would much prefer Trump to Khan tackling issues like crime in London.
This is embarrassing, @metpoliceuk shouldn’t be allowed to blatantly lie and use footage from lockdown , left, right or straight down the middle this is no good for anyone… are we North Korea?
A crowd of ‘Unite the Kingdom’ protesters attempted to enter the sterile area on Whitehall that is place to keep the two protests apart.
Officers were attacked with projectiles and have had to use force to avoid their cordon being breached.
Today we welcome the return of Manchester Christmas Markets. You will likely see a heightened police presence who will be acting to keep you all safe. If you see something suspicious, please report it by speaking to them or calling 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Why?
"Why don't we produce English coaches of Tuchel's standard, Collymore "?
Two reasons.
1. £13,700 to do your Pro licence in England, today. In Spain it's around €2000. There are 2200 Spanish pro licence coaches. There are 200 English pro licence coaches. Look at the correlation between cost and coaching number.
2. Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney all took jobs instead of doing 3 years at SGP. Why? Gerrard got £2.5m at Rangers, Lampard £1m Derby, Rooney $1m Washington. Fuentes, Spanish head coach coached Sevilla and Bilbao youth on around €30k then Alaves first team where he lasted 6 months on around €100k before being sacked ( for those who thought Southgate Boro CV wasn't up to scratch).
So English coaches have to pay 10 times more than European compatriots to get the same qualification, and English players don't give SGP an identity because they never get there, they go straight to jobs where their fame gets them inflated salary and deal.
I invite anyone reading this to..
Tell me Gerrard's philosophy.
Lampard's philosophy.
Rooney's philosophy.
You can't. Because they never went to SGP to learn one or develop one with each other. An "English way". All winners by the way.
Spain? France? Every 12 year old could tell you the arse end of every Spanish coach, what the core tenets are and how they play. Why? Those coaches coaches with each other, can afford the courses and develop an overall style that suits the environment they work in ( Spain), which is then taken abroad and utilised everywhere.
Deal with the root causes and we'll get our coaches.
Shame on the IOC .. it’s not tiddlywinks!! These women can get seriously hurt. Imagine training all your life to get to Olympics only to fight a bloke … it’s not right
English fans attacked Serbian fans at a cafe in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, before Serbia takes on England today in #EURO2024.
The result?
The English fans quickly learned the meaning of “FAFO” as they had to scatter down the street like rats.
🗣️ Lionel Scaloni: "We are losing the essence of football. Not only at a professional level but also with kids."
"My children play in Spain and are overwhelmed with information. They receive the ball, and they're already being told what to do."
"There are fewer dribblers because if they barely get the ball and you say, 'Pass it!'... Imagine if Messi, when he was eight years old, had been constantly told by his coaches to "Pass it!" We wouldn't have him today."
"Football has become such a huge thing, everyone reads, studies, and thinks that with that, they can already manage."
"If you tell a 7 or 8-year-old to make a diagonal run, cover defensively... He's seven years old! Let him play with the ball, make mistakes, and when he's 14 or 15, then we can start correcting."
"It's a message for the future. This is a sport, and the beauty of football should not be lost."
VAR incorrectly believed that Luis Diaz's disallowed goal had been awarded on-field 🔴
The 'check complete' was supposed to signal that the goal should have stood ⚽✅
I was 5 pints in for the Diaz goal and said to my dad on first replay without lines he’s onside … how can 3 officials in a room plus match day officials get it wrong 🙆🏻♂️
"PGMOL acknowledge a significant human error occurred during the first half of Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool."

🛫🚦@HKane is now on his way to the airport in London, as he already had the 🟢 light for his flight to Munich. FC Bayern is waiting for him. #Kane

Pep Guardiola says "the big brains" never consulted people in the game with the new injury time rules 👀
🗣 "It's more tiring for the players. It's too much."
