NYT: Israeli officials told their US counterparts that they "believed mass civilian casualties were an acceptable price in the military campaign." The Israelis also made specific references to the Allied bombings of Germany and Japan in World War II, "including the dropping of the two atomic warheads in Hiroshima and Nagasaki."

So the Biden admin heard this intent for mass murder, and still gave the green light.
