@BrilynHollyhand #7 - A young girl, who survived the devastating Camp Mystic floods in Texas, sang a powerful rendition of “Hallelujah” on Fox and Friends this morning.
A voice of hope rising from heartbreak. God bless her and all the families.

Dear Clover Community and T&F/XC Community (Near & Far),
I am deeply grateful to all who have reached out to me and the Clover Track and XC program to honor the memory of our beloved runner, Leigh Pendleton. Your kind words, shared grief, and steadfast support have been a pillar of strength during this heartbreaking time.
As a coach and father, I could never have prepared for the profound pain of losing a young athlete. My heart breaks for Josh, Brittany, and their three beautiful daughters as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Though words fall short, I pray they feel the love and support enveloping them.
Coaching prepares us to guide athletes as they step to the starting line, ready to give their all. Yet nothing prepares us for moments like these, when we are called to speak at a Celebration of Life. Just as our runners rise to every challenge, we too must find the courage to honor those we’ve lost with grace and love.
Months ago, the Holy Spirit placed Genesis 2:7 on my heart, its significance unclear until I ran with our cross country team in the mountains. There, it became evident that this scripture was preparing me for the sacred task of speaking at Leigh’s Celebration of Life. In my speech, I shared: “Leigh’s breaths on the track mirrored God’s eternal breath. Every step, every race, every smile was a reminder that life is a gift, sustained by the One who breathes hope into us.” These words, inspired by her fiery spirit and unwavering faith, captured Leigh’s radiant legacy. I am overwhelmed with gratitude that Josh and Brittany entrusted me with this honor.
Most comforting is the assurance that Leigh had a deep relationship with the Lord. This truth brings peace, for we trust that one day, we will all be reunited in His presence, where Leigh runs free, her breaths forever perfect.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Christopher Young
