The results are in! LOTF shelters needed to face winds, rains, flooding, and earthquakes in today's challenge! Then students voted on which structures prevailed in the following categories: Most Structurally Sound; Most Creative; Best Aesthetic; and Best Written Instructions(1/5)

I'd like to give a huge shout out to our new instructional coach @MikeWino1987 Mike came into my class this week to co-teach a lesson on the Bill of Rights. He knocked it out of the park! Kids were actively engaged, discussion was rich, and most of all...(1/3)

Students may keep an additional amendment, but they must amend it in some way. This gave them a deeper understanding of how the laws can work and allowed them to write argumentatively, as well as have ownership over their rights. Thanks @MikeWino1987 🇺🇸 (3/3)

The kids found the entire lesson a meaningful experience in understanding both their rights and their Constitution as a legal document. Activity: Students can only keep 3 of the first 10 amendments and must present an arguable defense of these 3. Bonus task... (2/3)
