@krufrank Need to ship guys out in order to bring in guys like Gallagher though they basically have a full roster.
Add some assets than add some “great people”
@DonnieandDhali@RJHenderson7@DhaliwalSports I think fans do want the Canucks to get involved but I think the main reason is because when you look at the trades that have been made you can see the prices have been high for the buying teams. It’s a strong sellers market with not a lot of teams selling.
@jpritchett___@krufrank 1 dman in already and 1 forward out. Very likely they think Stenberg is best available at 2 and don’t want to pass despite team need
@bearcave747 It makes more sense to take back a bad contract. Let’s say the contract is 4 more years at 5M for example. Thats 2 less years than the 6 remaining on EP40 plus if this player can play half decent you could probly retain half of it after 1, 2 or 3 years and acquire another asset.
@mattsekeres No if anyone thinks Quinn Hughes was a failed draft pick let’s not forget we turned the 1 first round pick into 4. You can get many productive years from a guy and if they are good enough to demand a haul it’s still a win for the team trading them like it was for Ottawa too.
@canuck5551 Or Boeser & Suter the year before Vancouver has always a struggled to understand asset management.
Hopefully that has changed with the new management. We need to move everyone we can out. Sign some UFAs to short contracts and trade them too. Need as many picks and prospects AP
@jabo_vancouver It’s true, I would avoid drafting an American player but if two players are very close in value to a point where it’s extremely difficult to determine who will be the better player. In that case I’m taking the Canadian player over the American.
Should be interesting with Reid.
@jabo_vancouver If the report from @TheFourthPeriod is correct and the Canucks are not planning to pick Malhotra 3rd (and he’s usually correct) then Reid becomes the most logical pick assuming Stenberg is gone. Carrels and Verhoeff and maybe even Björck are all possibilities though.
