In July, I sought to take leave to table a Private Members Bill entitled the Crown Land Reform Act 2026.

This is legislation to cut adverse possession from 60 years to 25, and fast-track land titling for communities displaced by a Hurricane or any such natural disaster who have no secure claim to the land they live on.

It’s been blocked twice, on technical grounds.
Twice.

Displaced Jamaicans don’t have the luxury of waiting on a technicality. But rest assured, we will find a way to table this Bill.

I hope this last week has made it clear why the immediate tabling of bills by the House Speaker when they are sent by the AudG or the IC is imperative.

It’s matters like these, that not just Parliament has a right to know about but YOU the people of Jamaica have a right to know about. This is how your tax dollars have been wasted year after year. Accountability & Transparency are a must! #TimeComeForCHANGE

I reiterate that it is imperative that the Speaker of The House be independent and all actions are rooted in integrity and transparency. These efforts to mislead the public and to make it appear as if I was not being truthful about the tabling of the Auditor General’s reports have led to even more confusion. Instead of passing blame and seeking to reprimand others, the Speaker should focus on her duties.
