@pedalsingh It is certainly brutal, but I’ve personally not seen anything from Rob Edwards, at any point in his career, that suggested he was capable of what’s needed at Wolves. I really tried, but just couldn’t warm to him. I know absolutely nothing of his replacement though, so it’s a risk
@molineuxmusings It’s strange timing if true, as the club seemed to be pushing an Edwards charm offensive. I guess we’ll see. I’ve personally not warmed to RE at all, whilst accepting he took on an almost impossible job. I know nothing of the supposed replacement.
@Apolly123_ The current Champions League, & the old European Cup are not even remotely the same competition. Totally different qualifying criteria. Totally different format. Completely new competition. To suggest a team who won the old Cup, is a winner of the Champions League, is ridiculous.
@ConceptScouting Nothing groundbreaking then? 50% of the teams we play next year will be similar. So the only way he wins games, is by having players who are better than the opposition.
@MarshallSuite@daveazzopardi The trouble is, I’m not convinced by either his player recruitment nor physical education prowess. But maybe he’ll surprise us on the latter.
@molineuxmusings ‘But zones don’t score goals, and why don’t we have men on the posts, and leave someone up top too?’ I’ve given up trying to argue with people that if all this was a good idea, don’t you think at least one top level coach would do it?
@molineuxmusings@MrRyanLeister@Gary_Poynton But who is he talking about? Clearly they’ve all been dreadful, but up front he had Armstrong (a signing he wanted), Mane (who he plays every minute), and a Korean International. We had 2 Brazilian Internationsls in midfield, and his big loan signing didn’t make the starting 11.
@molineuxmusings@MrRyanLeister@Gary_Poynton But if he wants rid of them, he needs somebody to buy them. And Wolves need to get as much as they can. So you don’t tell potential buyers that the merchandise is crap, do you?
@nobbyjennings@NathanJudah So? He’s played there before and done well. Lots of teams play inverted wing-backs these days. Cutting inside onto his left foot would make him more of an attacking threat.
@nobbyjennings@NathanJudah He could play Hugo at right back (as he did against Newcastle, and he did well), and play Wolfe at left back. It’s not hard.
@molineuxmusings@C_nrad And that’s my worry. A bang average Head Coach, and an inexperienced Sporting Director and CEO. What could possibly go wrong? Edwards would be fine at Brentford, or Brighton. But we just don’t have that structure in place.
@molineuxmusings@C_nrad But are we looking to just get promoted, and hope to somehow stay up, or are we looking to build something (as under Nuno)? I think prior to Fosun we’d all have been happy with being a bit yo-yo, but then we tasted better, and desperately want it back.
