Yesterday we turned our focus to making a climate summit table based on Judy Chicago’s ‘The Dinner Party’. We’ll be designing dinner party events for makers-thinkers-poets-lovers-doers to encourage design of local action for people and planet soon. Look out for the invites!
In recent weeks we’ve been engaging the community in climate focused theatre, ‘A Citizens’ Assembly’ and Social Fabric workshops making community textiles pieces from waste products and part of Bolton Town of Culture activities.
We’re a third of the way into our 2025 National Saturday Club Bolton Screen Academy course. Currently in production with Sitcom Studios working on three films developed by participants learning practical skills as we go. Brilliant facilitation from Sitcom.
We are lucky to have some incredibly talented young artists at our Bolton campus. One of our students actually won the 2024 Pride History logo competition out of thousands of entries and, as such, created a Pride theme Valentine’s card to advocate for a more diverse offering. This afternoon, our @Creatives_Now youth board members joined @Lynsey_Merrick for a walking tour at Media City and Salford Quays, with an enlightening behind-the-scenes visit to @The_Lowry to learn about their organisation
We absolutely loved exploring the huge and varied potential for artistic expression in community spaces with PINC students. Looking forward to next step plans ☺️.
Last term, our Bolton students visited @Creatives_Now to explore exhibition prep & creative curation. They shared thoughts on art & different forms, leaving with fresh perspectives.

Today is the last day of the art market and you still have time to book on ➡️➡️➡️
I love the return care of artists to lend their confidence, joy, magic and skill to our youngest. Create the space, hold the space, let the door revolve, keep the reminder of freedom being high, let the network grow ☺️. What a gift to be part of it all.
By complete chance in a local cafe today I met 2 former students (and one parent of another) who I worked with over many years as an artist when they were at primary school, and they have all chosen a degree or career in the arts, I am so proud of them!
Children are artists 🧡
