@WeaponScientist Don't think this will happen.
How quick and easily US rerouted deliveries to the Baltics as soon as they needed them themselves has damaged HIMARS reputation.
@Probablyno24740@Captain_Fubar This is just pointless arguing over semantics. Everyone knows there will be an order, it's just a matter of bureaucracy. They are already training pilots as we speak.
@Probablyno24740@Captain_Fubar Never has Gripen lost contracts due to manufacturing capacity lol. Price, capability or geopolitics sure but never manufacturing capacity. This is a completely made up problem because there is literally only 1 customer where this is top priority (Ukraine). And they are OK with it
@Probablyno24740@Captain_Fubar That's why we have manufacturing plants in Brazil and one would also be built in Canada should they buy aswell. Not sure why yo're claiming it can't be done when no one else outside twitter thinks it will be an issue. The biggest problem would be the Canadian plant rdy in time.
@Probablyno24740@Captain_Fubar Very unamerican of you to claim manufacturing capacity is not possible to change lol. Relying on quickly ramping up capacity when necessary has been one of your country's biggest strength throughout history.
@Probablyno24740@Captain_Fubar True, but a temporary problem and tbh highly unlikely it will be first approved and then later denied within that timeframe. That would probably result in a lawsuit aswell.
@Captain_Fubar@Creativezx Except all the maintenance and aftermarket support is handled by GKN aerospace in Trollhättan Sweden so as soon as the engines are in the aircraft you are free from US involvement.
@lrso214485@Captain_Fubar Because the problems only started when Trump entered office in 2025? Are you telling me you are not aware your policies have shifted significantly since then?
@ad200430@DingleberryJoe@VLS_Appreciator It would be extremely stupid of them to do so for the only reason to be petty and I want to point out that they have never once hinted at doing so. It's a talking point that only exists online.
@cotorshas@Captain_Fubar If they start pulling export licences for petty reasons, no one (even outside Swedish companies) would use any american components in military equipment again. It would suddenly entail a huge risk that did not exist before. I'm saying Americans understand money.
@VLS_Appreciator If Canada found itself in full scale war with a p2p enemy within 5 years, then go for the F-35. In any other scenario you can't let your nation be treated and subdued in such an humiliating fashion by a so called "friend". It would set the tone of ur relationship for generations
