It's Release Day!
This collection of 18 stories and 6 gothic poems was inspired by the English Romantic poets, the philosophical essays of Edmund Burke, and the writings of Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, & Thomas de Quincey.

My latest essay is an exercise in observation and critique, regarding my recent pilgrimage to Rochester, Minnesota, birthplace of Mayo Clinic, to catch a concert by Bob Dylan & his Band.

"Engage your audience".
Engage? I'd rather disassemble or rearrange.
Your? What is mine but a few brief years? There's nothing to own, save a few precious things within a cranium fence.
Audience? I sing for crickets, ghosts, churchyards. I'm applauded by the sound of my footsteps
"STRANGE INVITATIONS" is a collection of 18 stories, 7 poems, and an introduction by Josh Hames (owner of St. Paul's Weird Fiction bookstore paradise, OTHER SKIES). All these tales serve as invitations to the Sublime & Beautifully Macabre.

Happy Birthday to legendary English weird-fiction, cosmic horror, and sci-fi pioneer William Hope Hodgson, born November 15, 1877. He authored the novels The Night Land and The House on the Borderland, along with numerous shorter weird tales.
What is your favorite Hodgson story?
This fantastic art by Kent Turner serves for the cover of my next collection of stories, "The Wickies & Other Macabre Tales".
It includes 12 tales, 4 gothic poems, and a concluding terror-on-the-sea novella.

I tried my hand at writing local history, and have found this endeavor most rewarding. Upon discovering an asylum cemetery in the middle of a cornfield, I soon grew obsessed, researched a great deal, and wrote the following essay:

At St. John's Churchyard, which, for a time, was a regular haunt of Edgar A. Poe and Sarah Helen Whitman. Out of all the spectacular cemeteries I had the good fortune of visiting in Providence, I believe this was my favorite. It is a secluded, atmospheric gem of a churchyard.
Good heavens!
