In Benjamin Franklin’s words, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” and yesterday, I had the privilege of taking part in such an investment as we formalized a 3-year partnership with @JA_Uganda to promote Financial Inclusion through Entrepreneurship.

For the next 3 years, @AbsaUganda will support 1000 learners from 32 schools in Wakiso, Kampala, Mpigi and Mukono districts to start their own enterprises under the Company of the Year Initiative. Furthermore, under the social equity program, we aim to reach over 25,000 beneficiaries equipping them with financial literacy skills aimed at demystifying money matters and empowering the next generation with entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and confidence to innovate and make sound financial decisions.

I am especially proud that this partnership will provide a platform for our 1000+ Absa staff to pay their knowledge forward as they volunteer and mentor these bright young minds while giving them exposure to our #ReadyToWork program as well.

I extend heartfelt gratitude to the Junior Achievement team, led by Country Director @RMTUMALIZE, @Educ_SportsUg and all who made this vision a reality. This partnership illustrates the exponential power of entrepreneurship and I am confident that the positive ripple effects will extend far beyond the immediate beneficiaries.

By sowing such seeds of knowledge, we’re nurturing a generation poised to build resilient, sustainable futures for themselves, their families and our nation.

We are blessed to have participated in the East African Student Convention 2025 #EASC2025 @easconvention for the very first time, and came back with GOLD MEDALS.
