@USMNT@CocaCola The performances against The Netherlands and Germany that window were insane, especially considering the (on paper) mediocre squad Klinsmann had to deal with

Tune in this Saturday as we take 'em on again in Chicago for the @CocaCola Send-Off Match. 👀
As a kid, the World Cup was my actual geography teacher. You’ll be 10 years old casually learning about different countries, flags, and continents just because they’re in a group stage group with your national team. Best tournament on Earth. The Olympics too had that effect ngl
Just saw someone say Speed made a better World Cup song than Shakira, and 19 thousand people liked the post, bunch of brain-rotted individuals who have no idea what good music is
🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 The Baltic Cup returns this week for its 30th edition, with the Faroe Islands once again taking part as a guest nation.
The competition was created in 1928 after Estonia repeatedly declared themselves the best footballing nation in the Baltics, leading to the creation of a tournament to settle the debate.
Nearly a century later, it remains the oldest active international football tournament in the world. Only the Home Nations Championship is older, although that competition is no longer played.
Poland and Finland were originally invited to participate. Poland have never taken part, while Finland did not make their debut until 2012.
Latvia are the most successful nation with 13 titles, while Estonia enter as reigning champions after ending an 83-year wait for the trophy in 2024.
Now, just days before the World Cup begins, the Baltic Cup returns for its 30th tournament
The first sentence is just flat-out wrong.
Soccer is immensely popular here in the states. Has been for the better part of a decade & isn't slowing down anytime soon.
The sport isn’t popular in America but the Americans that do watch it probably know more about the sport than the average football fan in any other country because we actually have to seek it out intentionally where as the rest of the world is born into it
@jrod2589 Land Grant Brewing is one of our official supporter bars.

📝 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘: Igor Akinfeev has renewed his contract with CSKA until 2027.
It will be his 35th year with the club. Akinfeev's first training session at CSKA was at the age of 4, and now he has 929 career matches under his belt, 382 of which were clean sheets.
He was supposed to hang up his boots (and gloves) up after this season but has been persuaded to stay for one more campaign.
He's also a Football Manager legend for those who know.

Europeans: “American tourists are the worst! we don’t want you here! more refugees less tourists!”
also Europeans: “I’m gonna go to America and purposefully piss off the locals as much as I can”
I can't wait for eurotards to moan about how "America is running football" and "shouldn't be allowed to host the World Cup," because we can't control the weather 💀
World Cup fixtures could face lengthy delays if they are interrupted by severe weather conditions as FIFA does not have a cut-off point in its regulations for calling a match off.
According to U.S. thunderstorm protocol, a fixture taking place at a stadium must be immediately suspended if lightning or electrical discharge is detected within an eight-mile radius of the venue.
The players are led off the pitch and must take shelter in their dressing room, while fans are evacuated to safe areas inside the venue.
Once a lightning strike has been detected within eight miles, then a 30-minute countdown clock begins.
And if this time passes without any further strikes, then the match can resume. However, if there is another lightning strike during that 30-minute window, then the clock is reset to zero, and it will continue to be reset until 30 minutes pass without a detected strike.
Although FIFA is not responsible for U.S. thunderstorm protocol, nor can they override it, this could lead to World Cup fixtures being delayed for hours.
