@coverpoint_ They don’t have to bowl every bowl at 140-145 kph but they need to have the ability to bowl it once or twice in an over. The problem with the current attack is that, they bowl almost with the same pace, there is no surprise for batters.
There is some talk of Pakistan playing four pacers against West Indies but what surprises me is that Ubaid Shah is nowhere in the conversation. You need genuine pace in Test cricket, and while he is still a rookie, he is the quickest bowler in the current attack.
The management said that they have selected Ubaid Shah in the squad because they want pace and now he is not in the playing 11. Lol

@Nitish3341390@CallMeSheri1_ I get what you are saying but you need a player who can maximize the use of new ball. Shaheen is lethal with the new ball, takes alot of wickets in the power play. For death bowling Pakistan can use bowlers like Hunain and Danyal, who are good at that skill.
If this is the IPL talent everyone talks about then India will have very difficult couple of years ahead. This team looks very beatable without Bumrah, Hardik Pandya. And it’s not just T20’s. India regression started in ODI’s, Tests, and now it’s T20’s as well.

Mike Hesson said, "We're interested in players who win games for Pakistan and make contributions toward that. If you bat at number 7, you obviously won't score as many runs as the player batting at number 3. But you can still have just as much impact on the game. Those are the things we judge and value."
BREAKING: PCB unveils a radical new central contract model for 2026, replacing the traditional A/B/C/D categories with five format-based tracks in what it calls a “world-first” structure in cricket.
🔹 Track AB – Dual Format (Test & ODI): PCB’s top-tier multi-format players, carrying both Test and ODI responsibilities. Can still play T20Is if selected, but are recognised primarily as red-ball and one-day cricketers.
🔹 Track A – Red-Ball Specialist (Test): Dedicated Test cricketers, with added incentives and permission to play overseas first-class cricket to strengthen red-ball development.
🔹 Track BC – White-Ball (ODI & T20I): Core limited-overs players whose primary role is across Pakistan’s ODI and T20I teams.
🔹 Track C – T20I & Franchise Specialist: Players focused on short-format cricket, given greater flexibility to pursue franchise leagues around national commitments.
🔹 Track D – Development/NCA: Emerging players identified through the National Cricket Academy and domestic pathway for future progression.
PCB says players will now be assessed only against others in the same format pathway, while Chairman Mohsin Naqvi says the new framework aims to protect Test cricket and bring more transparency and fairness to contract decisions.
@rohit05507@RR_for_LIFE You nailed it. U-19 WC Asia cup, Emerging Asia cup. Pakistan youngster has given a tough time to India. The only difference is that Indian players improve day by day thanks to your system and our young stars are wasted by the incompetence of PCB.
Bangladesh clean sweeping Pakistan in Test at home and away is the lowest. Pakistan cricket has officially hit the rock bottom. The core group of players have taken the side in such a shameful position. Remember they finished last in previous WTC cycle too.
