@BBCR4Feedback #jaybrave is wrong to say Bristol had first AfroCaribbean mayor in Europe. Black mayor Raphaël Élizé was elected in Maire de Sablé-sur-Sarthe in 1929. Murdered in Buchenwald in 1945.

@jaybrave France had AfroCaribbean mayors long before Bristol. Mayor Raphaël Élizé died in Buchenwald in 1946
