#DisabilityPrideMonth started with a terrible experience of inaccessibility and a weekend of no safe access to hygiene at a 4star hotel. This sent me in to a huge flare fighting for basic rights. It is ending with a place saying they point blank refuse accommodations
@theipaper I really hope the person writing this tagline for social media is not getting paid for it. It’s bad enough when politicians equate PIP to out of work benefits, but a journalist who should have at least some research skills is particularly poor.
The only truly accessible revolving doors are those that have been taken out of service❗️
An added heatwave bonus - in & out without button pushing at side doors 👏🙌
@Helen_Whately@Conservatives Excellent. Where’s the jobs that pay more than poverty wages? Where’s the employers who are happy for disabled people to work just a few hours and from home? Where are these? I’m sure we’d all love to know!
Hi @vam_east I am so excited you’re open & cannot wait to come and have a look around but this Alt text is a poor show.
Please can it be addressed so you can do it properly from the off!
It’s not for crediting the tog it’s to describe exactly what the image is actually of please!
@flowergirl_lon Are @Se_Railway suddenly paying loads of people to advertise that ‘they’re trying really hard’ ‘be nice’ and ‘join a useless access panel with zero influence on improvement’
A disabled peer has used a debate celebrating International Women’s Day to highlight how a disabled woman was placed in a nursing home against her will after treatment for pneumonia, rather than being returned to her own home.

"Job centre work coaches say they are struggling to find employers who can accommodate disabled people and get them into work." Who knew?! This is why govt needs to listen to disabled ppl & should have done impact assessments, changes in law before rushing into cut benefits!
@DRDisabilityReb In all honesty the same people who tell us to get to work are also the ones who don’t see why reasonable adjustments should be made to allow us to do a job! So even if you’re working still demonised for anything. Really, truly cannot win any way!
@DRDisabilityReb And if you pass through all those and do get a job, you’ll be fighting for reasonable adjustments and employers have numerous legal means to get rid of disabled employees! We are often first to go in a restructure. There are very few actually inclusive employers.
@jhallwood Wtaf? We’re removing justice and doing so because god thinks it’s a good idea?!? What about all the people who don’t believe in that god?! Can we still have jury trials.
A wheelchair using friend tells me they were denied access to no less than 4 rail replacement coaches trying to travel North from York. 2 said ♿️lifts were not working & 2 wouldn’t try. But do tell me again how disabled people have the same access to travel as everyone else 🤬
@transportgovuk I’d love to believe this, but seeing the plans for removal of access at Redhill station and making it harder to travel for many disabled people, I don’t believe this is going to happen at all!
@flowergirl_lon Redhill station where they plan to remove access to the ticket office for any disabled people who need to travel to station by bus, taxi or car and moving blue badge bays further away.
I have called via relay the hotel they claimed to book for me who have no record of the booking made for me. They only have a different booking under the names that was definitely not mine. (No room for my PA or fully accessible room on that booking) or for the days I’m there!
And continuing victimisation and failure to make reasonable adjustments for 4 years now.
If anyone has any leads to how I can take this further or journalists interested I’m now happy to talk. Enough is enough.

Regional rep. At this point it seems purposeful. Will @UNISONdm or #ChristinaMacanea or @Andrea4GS contact me tomorrow (Thursday) to help resolve this? This is after a catalogue of events for which I am still awaiting my complaint to be investigated more than 2 years later /3
