A major shift is coming to the U.S. Selective Service system, as the government prepares to automatically register eligible men into the draft database starting in December 2026. This change removes the need for individuals to sign up themselves.

Under the new law tied to the National Defense Authorization Act, federal agencies will use existing government data to identify and enroll men ages 18–26 into the system without their direct action.

Officials stress this does not mean a draft is currently active, but it significantly streamlines the process should one ever be activated during a national emergency.

We all should pray more.

Why?

Because among other things, prayer is one of the primary ways we overcome anxiety and worry. And today we have something previous generations didn’t have—a constant stream of bad news in our pockets. Every time we pick up our phones we are reminded of something else that could make us anxious.

But the Bible gives us a very clear alternative to worry.

In Epistle to the Philippians chapter 4 we read:
