World of Warcraft veteran Brian Holinka has officially joined Riot Games as the Principal Game Designer for their highly anticipated League of Legends MMO.

Starting this June, the Blizzard alum is bringing over a decade of experience crafting World of Warcraft's PvP and combat systems to the world of Runeterra. Riot's long-teased MMO underwent a major internal reset in 2024 to ensure it stands completely apart from existing genre giants like WoW.

With Holinka teaming up alongside other recent veteran hires—including former WoW producer Raymond Bartos—under the direct watch of Riot co-founder Marc Merrill, the project is signaling steady, serious progress.

Reports are claiming that Wizards of the Coast is developing an official remake of Baldur’s Gate II.

Nothing has been officially announced yet, but multiple sources suggest the project is in the works and could involve people who worked on the original game.

With the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3, though, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Wizards making it.
