Un equipo de investigación, liderado por los profesores Javier Marugán y Cristina Pablos, ha participado en la implementación de un prototipo para la producción doméstica de pescado y vegetales en los campos de refugiados del pueblo saharaui en Tindouf.
Also the huge and generous help from Ahmed Salem, Abdalah, Charif Meilad and Said Mohamed, working hard to set up the prototype, and Gajmula, Jadiyetu and Jady taking care of us. They are excellent cooks, but shy to be photographed… We offer them to open a Saharawi restaurant!
We thank the warm support of Hasanitu Mohamed, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Jalihenna M. Mustafa, Director of Youth, and Malad. M. Sidi, responsible for https://t.co/BmLIYkXa3k, and all the team, including Tfarrah and Selma, who do wonderful work empowering women and volunteers.
…and also in research on innovative aquaponic solutions. Taleb Brahim, Director of Agriculture of RASD, dedicates his free time to his Almagad agricultural research centre, where he develops novel hydroponics, aquaponics and even sandponics! concepts adapted to Sahara desert.
Saharawi have successful experience in aquaponics. Galia Badad showed us their successful initiative in Ausserd funded by the Ministry of Youth. They are selling vegetables and fish and are very good showing their initiative!
Hopefully, they will soon produce fresh fish and vegetables in the middle of the Sahara desert!!
We felt literally at home. Saharawi are the most hospitable people we have ever known!
