if anything, this only makes me more bullish on zcash

very few core developers and projects would have dealt with this situation the same way -- with the seriousness, efficiency, and honesty it required and deserved

i'm optimistic these same devs will find a way to prove ZEC supply either (a) was indeed inflated, or (b) has been untouched

so we won't need to live with the uncertainty (which is the worst-case scenario for zcash's future, imo)

now, is there a chance the bug has been exploited?

of course.

but i believe this is a very small chance, many things considered, and i like to deal with probabilities

the market is pricing a high chance of the bug being exploited, while my assessment is that the chance is smaller than what is being priced in (nfa)

huge respect for zooko, shielded labs, taylor, defuse, josh, zodl, sean, and everyone involved here -- you guys are doing an outstanding work that is fundamented in such a valuable working ethos
