Deep breath. I’ve been holding this one from Twitter because Twitter is a scary place, but the SCOTUS decision is scarier. My heart goes out to women and all the healthcare providers who care for them.
This event, After Hours, is bigger than the sum of its parts. It’s a permission slip to be both human and a doctor.
It is, in a word, MAGIC ✨

Sometimes when people ask about my job, the only thing I can think of as comparison is this: My patients world is burning to the ground, and the outside world is carrying on as normal, and somehow it’s my job to keep these worlds separate and alive.
@LifeandPICU@HighFlowPeds@ScottVernaglia Hi! I do- I can PM you some of the ones I found. I also sniped this incredibly useful chart (source screenshot for you) that helps me explain to critics what we are advocating for.
My BFF’s MIL asked me to paint something in honor of her husband, a former @FDNY firefighter, as a gift for his pulmonologist who has treated many first responders. As a NYer, with a (retired) cop father, it was an honor.
I’m painting again… this was for a rough week. The kind that makes you think about the *can* do’s, the *should* do’s, and the ocean of grief that lies between them.
I don’t know where else I would put this into the universe but today a 6 year old taught me that I can know how many babies I will have by looking at the veins in my wrist. So OB/GYN’s everywhere - the answers are in your patients’ wrists. 😂😂 #MedTwitter
