@UHBHumanFactors I have a draft post half written since ages called “What Human Factors Isn’t”, but I kept it half written until I’d thought more about it. It is more like “What Human Factors Isn’t Only”. Because CRM is an application of HF to operational work. Point is about false *equivalence*.
Still time to book on the 2nd “Managing the Critically Ill Child 2018” #MtCiC2018
A day (5CPD) of learning for all those who look after sick children in the non specialist setting
Friday 7th December, Plymouth https://t.co/bSim1Eha27
@jimmibruce@CritTorbay@TheACPRC Great multidisciplinary team work is the key for patient success with difficult-to-wean patients
The bunting brightens the patients environment which is also a major driver of success
You have cracked it...nice work!
#lanefoxunit#liberation#weaning
Lovely bit of weaning planning by my physio colleague today. Following the slow wean protocol from Lane Fox unit @NickHartThorax . Nice bit of bunting thrown in as well for ambiance! @CritTorbay@TheACPRC
@jimmibruce@GrahamBrant2@ICS_updates@CC_3N Patients are doing better because of the therapy teams. We must keep building the service and recognise the need for supported recovery from critical illnesses.
@BrennanSurgeon We’re taking (or trying to) the approach of understanding work in the context of real NHS constraints (some aren’t going away even with £20m “extra”). Change work and context, not the workers. Still, made some progress with making staff more aware of individual and team factors.
Excellent presentations, showcasing the great multi-professional team effort at Torbay ICU. Well done Meg Harty, Kirsten McArthur, Mark Rezk and Greg Warren aka Dr J Bruce! @TorbaySDevonNHS
Little known fact: Patients feel more trust and faith and get better faster when they feel like their doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers all know each other, communicate together and get along friendly-like.
@CritTorbay@TorbaySDevonNHS a great awareness day run by our clinical psychology team for our front line ICU staff exploring compassion fatigue. Very thought provoking about how we need to look after our self so we can look after others. Thank you team psychology 👍🏼
#pjparalysis so important for ward based recovery both body and mind. A bit more tricky on ICU with all the lines but we are trying! @TorbaySDevonNHS@CritTorbay
We're supporting #EndPJParalysis at King's. If you're visiting a relative or friend help us get them out of bed by bringing in their day clothes and any visual/hearing aids so they can enjoy being up and dressed #TeamKings
We are all very excited as it is the final few days before our confernce. Tickets still available - Join is for what will be an awesome two days of engaging, enlightening and challenging talks and discussion https://t.co/k7aD3mX22Z #collaboration
I fully agree w/ below. On #WDAD2018 & every day, we should combine delirium & mobilization interventions to improve patient outcomes & reduce length of stay. We must never forget my mantra: "the head bone is connected to the body bone" #endPJparalysis#ICURehab@iDelirium_Aware https://t.co/jsJ9jVbgxe
