...people for most of the film. He's just been beating on criminals and telling himself that he's doing it for the greater good. It's only after the flood that Batman is able to move past that, connect wtih people, and grow as a person. That's why Batman wins and Riddler loses.

What isn't talked about enough with Riddler flooding Gotham is how clearly it cements the dichotomy between Batman and Riddler. Riddler claims he's rooting out the corruption in Gotham, but his plan to flood the city--which obviously hurts everyone in Gotham and will not help...

...Riddler's final plan of flooding Gotham doesn't make sense, and that's the point. He lacks the self-awareness to realize that he is just lashing out in rage, and through this event, Batman is able to realize he is doing the exact same thing. He hasn't been trying to help...

It's Upper Latria in Demon's Souls for me. No area feels as unnatural and funadmentally wrong as 3-2. The enemies are abominations that shouldn't exist. The grotesque heart at the center of Upper Latria shouldn't exist. The architecture itself defies logic and shouldn't exist.
