Fireball, Level 2.
Permanently weakens a card by 200 power. Cards on adjacent squares each lose 100 power permanently. Cost 100 energy.
With cards losing different power values, you open new captures.
Back in the glorious day of Legends of the Five Rings, Noah Bradley was painting the stronghold cards like no one else (see picture)... Theo's work give me the same vibes. Worldbuilding at its finest 😍
Theo DI MALTA is the cartographer of Artellium.
Acongua (S1). Six Mantris districts (S2). Six Rift zones (S3). Almost every Field card in the game has his name on it.
Look up and enjoy the world he created for you
Spring.
Blooming only for a fleeting moment, its petals carry the promise of renewal and quiet fortune. Some say each blossom remembers a wish whispered to the spring wind.
Orchid
A Rift seed harvester. Combs the ruins of old Solon for grains, pollens, spores — botany that could restore the pre-Blast flora of a region.
His pazzu glows different colors when they're together.
Some cards don't fight. They build what comes after.
The Sassaki school is the most reputed warrior school of Mantris. Discipline over mana. Steel over storm.
After Arkhante's victory at the Apologium, the former Malek asked Mantris to send four Sassaki disciples to guard the Arkhante throne.
Here they are. 🧵
Only Faust remembers now.
"Soon I will be the only witness to the true chain of events leading to the Blast. And no one will hear my testimony. Unless I seal it in a souvelume, a memory-bottle for the generations to come."
Gryffin
A massive horned brawler from the Rift. Looks terrifying. Heart breaks for the things that can't defend themselves.
He'll lose a fight before he abandons a stranger.
Some cards are brutal. Gryffin is gentle and good at it anyway.
At last, the truth behind every mask:
"As an architect, I connected people through cities. I thought becoming a mantrix would deepen it. It did the opposite. So I escaped and built a new identity, keeping my goal in mind, lest I lose myself among my many faces."
His dream took root, in flesh and fungus.
"Gather around me, Veredicts. Let us weave into the Mycelium network. Take root. Become the rhizome of the fungal mind. Connect your neurons to mine."
Ash, Mantris Ambassador. A man who would outlive his own body to chase one obsession: connection.
It began with a mask. "They were all different, yet each seemed to wait for me, marked with a kind of truth. I left with one." 🧵
Astrid
Arkhante's augur. She doesn't see the future, she just watches so closely the world tells her its secrets.
If Astrid's looking at a particular shadow, it's time to move.
She rarely raises her voice. She rarely needs to.
Hack, Level 1.
Choose a card from your opponent's hand they cannot play next turn. Different card the turn after. Cost 75 energy.
Seeing the hand is strong enough. Blocking the card you fear most is cherry on the cake.
Stormy Elia Fanggidae is a storyteller well know from players of Magic and Flesh & Blood.
Zoom in on the feathers in Giant Eagle & Griffin. Each one rendered like a portrait.
Balor is a players' favorite (S3). Skar (S3). Vakib Fal'Khedir (S4). Eleven cards in the catalog. Half airborne, all kinetic.
We received this video from a player opening an original Primus pack with Season 1 cards. Primus packs were sold before the game released, full of Mythics, the rarest cards in the game. You can even spot a Solis foil. GGWP.
Mozart
A Mantris war-robot whose neural substrate corrupted in an incident the Noria refuses to declassify.
It fights to music only it can hear. Composes, conducts, strikes on the downbeat.
Filed under "anomalous assets." Deployed when the mission is already unwinnable.
