Hello everyone. I am pleased to announce our new paper "New material of Dolichochampsa minima (Archosauria: Crocodylia) from the Cretaceous–Palaeogene El Molino Formation of Bolivia sheds light on the early evolution of Gavialinae" https://t.co/mQNOiwqBw8
Exciting News! @Croc_nerd, a UMMP grad student, just secured a $3,000 Rackham Grant for his groundbreaking Caribbean biodiversity project! Read more: https://t.co/OLgu4sKQpf
For fossil Friday. Here is my #UROP student, Lexi Keenan, showing her first 3D model of a fossil (7-4 Ma) crocodylian vertebra from the Dominican Republic.

Day 1 of working at FLMNH with a beautiful fossil gharial from the Mio-Pliocene (7-4 Ma) of the Dominican Republic! My friend and colleague, Lazaro Viñola, is preparing it while we do some phylogenetic analysis.

@DavidEvans_ROM@curioushino It looks like the dorsal surface is damaged, but it preserves some cool features like the big occlusal notches. It is a nice specimen, I would love to see what story this croc unravels.
@yatachelys@diapophysis We have a team member that is going to make the Ar/Ar dating from units that are stratigraphically above and below these turtle deposits. We think this deposit is Cretaceous-Paleocene in age.
Had a blast at the #SVP2022 in Toronto! It was good to talk to some folks and catch up with some friends. Spoiler alert: new fossil crocodylians are coming from #WilsonMantilla's lab!
I am currently working with the evolutionary relationships of crocodylians, particularly the Gavialis-Tomistoma controversy. Super excited to present preliminary results of this project at #MGU and #SVP this year! Many thanks to Gregory Schneider for the collection access.
