@theo Opus 5.5 feels like an optimized version of Astra, it’s shed the tendency to overthink and is precise, efficient, and exceptionally good at execution. But it’s not Fable. Only the Fable series can cut straight to the core point in a discussion.
@samuelcolvin Agree, even though Opus 5.5 outperforms Fable 5.1 across the board on benchmarks, Anthropic still positions Fable 5.1 as the choice for the hardest tasks in its official messaging. There has to be a reason for that. Just try it!
@AdamTornhill The post mentions shifting to E2E tests over TDD, but wouldn’t E2E easily miss edge cases and security issues? It feels like E2E ensures the happy path works, but falls short on reliability and safety. How do you tackle that?
An AI Agent with 70+ tools can still feel dumb.
I recently reviewed one. Each new feature meant adding more tools, so it could only trigger business flows designed in advance.
I wrote about AI Workflows, Tool Agents, Code Mode, and Sandboxes.
@herdrdev Just made a lazygit plugin for herdr:
it starts as a compact sidebar for the Git stuff I use most, then expands into full lazygit with U when I need it.
C opens an AI commit pane, and ; opens settings.
been pretty handy for me so far

Double-click to stage files, then press C for AI-generated commit messages. Press U when you need the full lazygit layout, or ; to adjust the AI, keybindings, and layout.
It’s been pretty handy for me. Maybe someone else will find it useful too.

For anyone using herdr, I made a lazygit plugin, mostly to fit the way I like to work.
Instead of dropping the full lazygit UI into a pane, it starts as a compact single-column sidebar. That covers most of my day-to-day Git use while leaving the rest of the workspace free.
Some of the images in the article originally contained Chinese content. Therefore, they were converted to English using gpt-image-2 and placed below the original images for easier reading. However, all the research content is genuine, verifiable, and exportable.
@trq212 What prerequisites? good tests and solid legacy code? I'm rewriting a university-era ERP I built for free for a small business. It’s a hot mess of weird logic and bugs.😰 Had Claude rewrite it, But the result did not quite good.
