And, of course, there's this moment here. Semien's 2-run HR in the 9th inning of Game 5 that served as the twisting of the dagger.
I'll never forget the rush that came over me when he hit this HR knowing the Rangers were going to win the World Series.
Thank you, Marcus, for your leadership within our organization, your contributions to our community over the past four years, and your help in bringing us our first World Series title.
Best of luck in New York.
Shohei Ohtani had two home runs and two doubles and five walks (four intentional) and became the first player to reach base seven (and eight and nine) times in an MLB postseason game and the first player to be intentionally walked four times in an MLB postseason game and the first player to have four extra base hits in a World Series game since Frank Isbell of the 1906 Chicago White Sox as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-5.
That was heartbreaking. Watching Luka get emotional only reinforces the love he had for Dallas and the reality the HE WANTED TO STAY.
A guy who will retire as one of the greatest of all-time with a decade of memories still to go...
He was our guy. We were his city.
❤️Luka❤️
@TrevorJudge@BenRogers (Also, he’s got ice in his veins in the biggest moments and would have given us a better chance to win it all over the long run.)
@TrevorJudge@BenRogers 99.9% of the time, I agree. But you don’t trade a Roger Staubach or a Dirk Nowitzki. They’re synonymous with Dallas, and that’s how Luka was. Give me 15 more years of Luka magic and I would have happily taken my chances on a ring while he gave us countless memories.
@All_Things_Mavs They could win the title this year and it still wouldn’t feel right without Luka. But serious basketball question - how does this big man defensive rotation stop the three point shooting of the Celtics?
Some of yall aren’t getting it. We don’t care that we are still contenders for a title. Luka meant so much to this city and nothing will fix this, not even winning the finals.
