@noahbradley@ImRachelBradley Same, and this time I would do it blind and not allow myself to look up decision consequences. My biggest regret is not just embracing the chaos my first playthrough.
@zarahartist They do establish that this blight is "different" than what they're used to. We (spoiler) discover it's possibly an ancient version of the blight from the gods' og era. It may not have been intentional, but you could justify it by saying it's a less evolved version.
@mvwrite I'm having a blast! I love all of the companions, which is rare for a game, imo. Usually I quickly develop a couple of favorites, but these precious dumbasses all have me in a chokehold.
After playing hours of Veilguard every day, I wind down either listening to Misfits and Magic S2 or Escape from the Bloodkeep. I think my pets just assume @erikaishii just lives with us at this point.
I'm going to download and play Veilguard aren't I? After years of stating I would definitely not immediately download and play a new Dragon Age game, I'm still going to do it. If EA and Bioware shit the bed again, I may never emotionally recover.
@SuddenlyWizards I recently watched a breakdown on spotting AI photos, and part of it was about lamps, because AI understands rooms have lamps, but not why rooms need light sources, so they end up nonsensical. AI might be able to mimic story structure, but will always miss underlying intention.
Ideas are a dime a dozen. Everyone has ideas. They may even have really good ideas. Translating an idea into a fully crafted work of art is where the difficulty and the joy lies. You cannot understand what it takes to breathe beauty into art until you learn the process.
People who keep advocating for AI to take over writing keep missing the point of being a writer. It’s about the process & the humanity. Everyone has ideas for stories but it’s about execution! Wanting quick & easy just to say you’ve written a script or book. Sigh.
I helped run a local writing group for several years. During that time I noticed an interesting pattern. We'd get cishet white men who would show up 1 time, express they had a great idea, and that their dream is to write "the next great American novel." Those words, every time.
I imagine all of those men are currently plugging their "great ideas" into AI machines to shit out the closest facsimile of the novel they think will win them awards and accolades.
