I am based, in Manhattan.
Engineering, science, security, and statistics.
I am some piece of work. Follows, retweets and engagements are not endorsements.
A decade ago, statistics was wrapped-up as "machine learning" and "data science," by laypeople and for laypeople. Recently I've starting seeing examples that all-things "machine leaning" are being wrapped-up into the term "AI."

It's not obvious that the Democratic Party is more liberal than the Republican—the latter might beat-out the former. The disparity in individuals' treatment by the commentariat is better understood as: they who have a reputation for aligning with the élite consensus are granted a longer leash.
@inspiredcreatv@studyofUAPs I nominate my esteemed, longtime friend Todd Seavey (@ToddSeavey), an oft-published author and pundit in the political and film/TV realms, who has in fact once debated the UFO subject on stage in front of a live audience.
Claim: "Science is metaphysically agnostic." ―The Hon. @TOEwithCurt | Here are two close counterexamples, in the form of a priori metaphysical assumptions made for science: 1) spacetime-invariance of ultimate/final physical law itself; 2) a "dead" universe, i.e. a universe which does not make exceptions to ultimate physical law on a whim.

The song "Steppin' Stone"—it's cool. Because of how it's produced (in the style of the time) it's wrongly characterized as hyper-poppy. (I'm referring to its all: could be Revere/Raiders, could be Liverpool Five.)

Most non-victimless crimes-of-morality are perpetrated not because of some version of "stealing a loaf of bread to feed my family," rather it's because the perp was psychically hurt in the past and seeks vengeance, even if the non-specific variety is the best one can do.

@MUGGER2023@ToddSeavey Wowza: how have I not heard of this‽ 1) Kindly provide me with the best-for-me source(s) on this Dimes Square phenomenon; 2) I can find effectively zero mentions of Sovereign House online; more info, please?
(for either/both requests, feel free to use email or whatever)
Via @ToddSeavey: I’m as intrigued as anyone by the cross-fertilization between right and left going on in downtown Manhattan’s youthful Dimes Square scene. https://t.co/EehNVz68MC
As a rule, both "business" books and "self-help" books are in fact philosophy books. Now, they may be mid-/low-brow, and they may rarely be worldview-shattering, and they may have gobs of filler. But far and away, they mainly discuss matters of philosophy.
@sineadaw@dwpasulka Thank you! This looks great. I have gotten a lot out of Bach's previous conversations, in terms of expanding the ol' metacognitive toolkit.
