I didn't come into politics to raise taxes on working people. Labour will not put up your income tax, national insurance or VAT.
The Conservatives are the party of high tax.
So it seems the raise taxes £2,000 line is done by costing the Labour spending proposals and then calculating the impact pro-rata. Now of course even if correct it doesn't have to come from tax it could be from borrowing etc. #ITVdebate
Sunak "For the first time in UK history pensioners will pay tax". Is very inaccurate phrasing. Pensioners do pay tax just like everyone else. What he's talking about is paying tax if you get the full State Pension and have no other income. #ITVdebate
