What a neat experience out at Cross County this morning. The Cougars are taking their Ag program to places you don’t often see. A bovine, one-of-a-kind day!

Phil Buhman is a Columbus-based veterinarian/embryologist and owns Preferred Genetics for Bovine. He’s here at Cross County to speak to Ag students about the AI process.

Afterwards, they’ll head outside to actually see AI in action.

We've been visiting schools for 10 years, and this is a first!

Cross County has a large animal handling facility on site, the only of its kind. Today, they have a veterinarian coming in to work with the kids and AI two of their six heifers. Awesome example of student ownership!

The full farm to table process is complete! Our @CrossCoFFA raises the chickens on campus, the chickens are butchered, FCS students get the chance fabricate, make chicken stock with the bones, and make chicken soup with the stock. Absolutely love it!
