FIVE THINGS I would do to fix the Sun Belt if Keith Gill was fired today
1. Drop USM and Georgia State. They have had plenty of time to grow their fan base and product on the field in every sport. Neither have had any success. One hole can sink a boat.
2. Find a way to get ONE baseball and softball game on TV a week. The SBC is in a position to be a top 4 conference in the country for diamond sports.
3. An out of conference challenge tournament for baseball at a minor league stadium with P4 and top mid majors for the Sun Belt's top teams. Find a way to gte it on TV.
4. Market and showcase the SBC as the best soccer conference (arguably already is) be a trend setter with moving to a US soccer backed system.
5. Fix football scheduling. 5A, Create a week 0 matchup for the winner of the SBC and the winner of another G5 offer buyout money for the cheapest OOC buy game to replace. 5B, All rivalry games on ONE week. Don't want to compete with Thanksgiving? Fine. BUT find a week to PUSH the regionality and passion in this conference that NO OTHER ONE HAS!. 5C, split Saturday games into concreate windows. Noon slots 3:30 slots nightcap slots. THIS helps other fanbases tune into SBC games and actually care about the conference. Also helps sell tickets to SBC games if fans know about the other team.
@FarrellPatrickJ@DowntownHWV I don’t know anything about community organization, but I’m writing to put this out there - we need a community clean up event soon!
