As a consultant clinical psychologist, can I say literally the last thing patients need is an escalation in rhetoric against benefits claimants, led by the newspapers. Surviving on benefits financially is already near impossible, the hateful discourse already internalised enough.
@_OliviaBlake Hi Olivia. I've been in Sheffield city centre 3 times in the past week & each time it's been absolutely strewn with litter & it's felt quite abandoned. Is there more street cleaning that can be implemented? Otherwise it's going to keep being avoided & that's v.sad.
@SheffCouncil I've walked through the city centre this evening & it is incredibly strewn with litter, the worst I've seen it. What's going on please? It's already struggling & people will only avoid it more if it's unsightly. Please can you increase street cleaning provision?
Hi! I'm looking for participants for a research study exploring fat/plus size people's experiences of counselling . If you would like to participate, or would like some more info, please get in touch via the email address in the advert below #TherapistsConnect#Research
This proposal is an attack on the limited rights and protections that trans people currently have.
It’s another chapter in the vile culture war against trans people - a small minority already facing a huge amount of discrimination.
We must stand with them and resist this.
It’s extremely distressing to see the UK’s equality watchdog, the EHRC, seeking to strip trans people’s rights from the Equality Act 2010. By redefining sex, they support removing the rights and protections trans people have had for over a decade 🧵
Today, after yesterday's #IPCC report, everything is back to normal – as always. We continue to ignore the climate crisis as if nothing happened. Our societies are still in denial, and those in power go on with their never ending quests to maximise profits. We cannot afford this.
@SheffCouncil Great to hear these plans @SheffCouncil but for it to be a nice place to spend time in, more energy needs to be spent on dealing with the enormous amounts of litter strewn across the city centre. What are your plans to improve this?
And it looks like we’re adding another one to the list….

Hey @BACP, as counsellors we don't shy away from difficult conversations, as your members we are bound to accountability & candour with our clients. To build relationships based on honesty, respect & integrity. Don't those same values apply from you towards your members? ...1/2
Tomorrow, I’ll be supporting teachers, civil servants, train drivers and bus drivers on strike.
Brave protests of the past have won the rights we enjoy today.
And they have built the foundations of the labour movement we should all be proud to defend.
@melciavucco Yes, it baffled & disappointed me. Chronic illness feels like a pretty common sense reason as to why someone might not benefit from a rigid session model.
@BACP Hello. Have you changed how directory enquiry emails come through to members? I've had one from [email protected] which is a different email than usual & it's asking me to download an attachment using my BACP membership number. Is this legit please?
@Therapists_C Help please! Has anyone else received a different style (?) of directory enquiry email from BACP asking you to input your membership number to download an attachment? The email looks authentic but I've never had this before with a directory enquiry email!
