Fun chess match at the end of Hawks/Knicks.
Brunson was trying to get the Okongwu matchup almost every time down. Hawks mixed coverages up very nicely to try and keep him off balance. Sprinkled in hedges, hedge-and-unders, blitzing, switching, hard doubling.
@HawksDraftNerd Truthfully the biggest blunder behind that trade was throwing away an expiring contract for guys who didn’t move the needle and were never going to this season. Didn’t understand it then and don’t understand it now.
@BTRowland@bloghawk rushed trade? I can’t imagine they had enough time to explore every offer and possibility. On one hand I feel like they sold low, on another hand maybe they knew exactly what direction they’re trying to move (AD?)
@BTRowland@bloghawk Outside looking in, the hawks did everything right by Trae. Reporting of open conversations between the team and Trae’s camp. Legitimately talking to all of Trae’s desired landing spots. I would assume tensions were low to find a spot immediately. I guess I don’t understand the -
That bucks/pelicans pick is two rolls for the first overall in one pick. You get two shots. If that’s not a trade centerpiece idk man… you might just be asking for too much
7 players in the league have defended 500 drives this season while making a positive impact on the defensive end. Here they are sorted by the no. of drives they stopped.
I don’t even have words for this…
They censored him like South Park censored a character
Just don’t use these clips if you want to erase him from Mavs history
When you want to focus on the basketball, the organization does some weird stuff like this
@HawksDraftNerd If we get PG (I don’t want a guy who spends more time on podcasts than the court), and there’s draft capital anywhere near the trade, I’m gonna lose it
