@LebaneseOligark To be fair, take nukes and other nations out of the equation, move 40 million Yemenis to Lebanon, and see how long Israel lasts fighting them.
@Onyxdime@Dracohouston@theselongwars_ Ansarallah is the more official name for the political entity and Houthi is a colloquial term using the political leader's name, roughly equivalent to Republican vs Trumpist.
@TheNewsProfesor@WarMonitor3 Western media bias. The Houthis have a history of punching well above their weight. Morale is also a huge factor here; the anti-Houthi forces are largely mercenaries from Saudi Arabia and the UAE that don't get along.
@juegosnoguey They're so incompetent you can't make a specific historical comparison; any previous nation so incompetent would leave no historical record. The dumdum tribe of Kakistan.
@MAGAMAHACindy It sounds like a cynical ploy when a president floats a one time cash payment if his party wins the midterms. Even if you think Medicare for all is unrealistically expensive, at least it's an attempt at an actual solution rather than a band-aid.
@Paul_Danner_ What's there to figure out? He did the same thing during covid. Plus he promised DOGE checks that never came. It's a nothing burger because Trump constantly lies.
@proamericapol Saying that Democrats would support the $5000 check if Trump's name was not attached is a pretty clear indicator it's a pretty liberal, socialist policy, basically a one-time UBI. So your accusation of hypocrisy reads a bit like confession.
@alexedmi Leftist here! Not angry, amused. A lot of us like a universal basic income, so keep up that 5,000 every year. Hell, bump it up to like 30k.
And then do the obvious thing: raise taxes to pay for it so we're not adding to the debt.
@speed_roge75310 This is just the logical conclusion of Republican government since Reagan. Start wars in the Middle East, cut taxes, and drive up the debt. Chickens have come home to roost.
