Two little windows to 1920s Japan:
On the left, a 1-Sen coin from 1920. The patina on this one is something else – like it's seen a century pass. On the right, its sibling from 1921, details still sharp. That Paulownia crest never gets old.

This will be my future blade, and it's about to be shipped to my country. It's made of 9260 steel. Right now, the mekugi-ana are supposedly being made. What are your thoughts?

I'll try to source some wood to start making its handle so I can actually hold it. The steel itself is decent—the only major flaw is having such a short tang. I'll keep showing the process

About the rescue knife: I've managed to remove all the rust and sharpen it to a point where I feel somewhat proud. I know it's a good edge because, thanks to my clumsiness, I've already cut myself lol. In one of the photos, you can see the strange kind of hamon it has

On December 3rd, I contacted a workshop in China to have a katana blade made from 9260 steel. Yesterday, I contacted them again and they told me it's in the final stage of the process. They're supposed to send photos within a few hours, so if that happens, I'll post them here
