In Science, Y1/Y2 have been looking at everyday materials. Yesterday, the children did an experiment to see whether materials absorbed or repelled water! 💧🧪🔬

This week in writing, Y5/Y6 have been preparing for their final writing pieces by analysing the vehicle text 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'. They used drama to retell the cliffhanger scene and identify the movement and emotions felt by the characters as the tension rose.🐺

This week in Computing, KS1 planned a route and used forwards and backwards directions to guide each other!🤩

On Friday afternoon,KS1 looked at printmaking and completed their own artwork by using every day materials from the classroom and paper stencils!🤩❤️

Y3/Y4 have explored programming and coding this week in computing using scratch. They have coded their sprites to move and make sounds!🖥️ 🔊

As Y5/6 begin their new unit exploring textiles and collage, they are focusing on the shapes and lines created by trees.🌳They zoomed in to closely observe the lines and patterns found in bark and will be using a range of different media to recreate these textures in their work!

Today we learned that when you paint on ice, it dries almost instantly! 🎨❄️ We also explored different ways to melt the ice so we could rescue our baby dinosaurs 🦖🧊

🎄 Christmas Cookery Fun! 🎄

The whole school enjoyed yesterday’s cookery workshops where everyone made their own individual festive cheesecakes. The children did a fantastic job following instructions and getting creative. Well done to all our budding chefs! 🍰✨

Y5/Y6 sharpened their working scientifically skills. They explored independent, dependent, and controlled variables in a scientific enquiry. The children then planned and carried out an investigation, focusing on which variables they would change / which they would keep the same.
