Very pleased to announce our next Beginners' course, starting 24 Sept on Zoom. Only £10 for all 8 sessions, we want to encourage Croydon to learn about #bees and #beekeeping
Listen out for our chair Bob Barnes tomorrow 20th July on the @VoiceOfIslamUK Radio breakfast show. It's part of our mission to educate everyone about bees, and any opportunity to talk about them is welcome!
Honey #bees have no concept of social distancing. They are vulnerable to pathogens passed quickly from bee to bee. New diseases have hopped species - that's humankind's fault. We'll keep looking after them, but beekeeping will be a lonely activity for a while.
A fantastic visit from Debbie @CroydonBKA delivering an informative assembly about her role as a beekeeper. Giving our children an insight into these amazing insects and how important it is to look after them. Our allotment will be ready for these little guys! #11b411#SMSCatRFA
We're very pleased to say that booking is now open for our winter beginners' #beekeeping course. It starts on 4th February 2020 in central Croydon. A great present for anyone interested in #bees. Details are at https://t.co/C0x2HWaVe3
The movie Honeyland is coming to the @SaveDavidLean cinema. It features #beekeeping in Macedonia, a land of mountains and lakes. We'll be there with information about #bees in #Croydon, a land of allotments, parks and green spaces. Come and see the film, .... and us!
We've had so many calls and emails about these lovely bees making their homes in people's lawns around Croydon this year. Our advice about what to do? Admire them!
Bottoms up! Here's a hard working Ivy mining #bee excavating her nest. Ivy mining bees are the last #solitarybee of the season and prefer to nest in little holes that they dig in the soil. Have you seen any in your #garden

Making plans for next weekend? It's not too late to book a place on our taster day on 14th Sept. It's aimed at potential new #beekeepers and you'll learn about bees and how to look after them hands-on. Warning: #bees are addictive! More info from [email protected]
You are not too late for this year! We're running a taster day in September at our apiary near Old Coulsdon for anyone interesting in #beekeeping or indeed #bees. Come along and find out if beekeeping is for you and get set to keep bees in 2020.
