@HSTPodcast I agree. I was surprised Espada didn’t have Brown pitch the 6th and then have Abreu ready for the 7-8th with Hader on deck for 8-9th. This should have been treated like a full playoff game with no holds barred.

The lack of faith in Imai still astounds me. The team has few options for the 6th inning, and Imai isn’t considered?

Why hasn’t Imai pitching? We don’t use him in either high or low leverage innings. Yet he fills a roster spot for a totally gassed bullpen. I didn’t want to believe they weren’t pitching him because of the innings bonus, but man, I don’t know.

@Astros_Coverage A very good reminder about the volatility of relief pitching. Unless a RP has a clear record of success over several years, a team has to be careful with contracts, salaries, and expectations (see Rafael Monterey),

@Astros_Coverage Yes, I agree. I always give the front office the benefit of the doubt as they have more data and insight on injuries, lefty-righty matchups, etc.
BUT, constantly reaching for rejects WITHOUT giving Joey and Jake playing time is mind boggling.

@brianmctaggart @Clay_HTXSports Brian is correct. Dana relied on pitchers returning from serious injury to be immediately effective for two straight years. It failed miserably both times.
