Maybe we need to follow Colorado's lead to compete with Denver 🤷♂️

I would really avoid this talking point after the establishment went all-out for Swalwell despite his behavior being an open secret throughout Washington.
Seattle aced it today. The city feels like a college town on the first Saturday of football season. Bars and restaurants are buzzing, all the streets are full of fans, and everyone’s walking to the stadium on a beautiful 78° afternoon.
Walking around Seattle ahead of the USMNT game. Plenty of USMNT jerseys including this custom one IMPEACH kit for Donald Trump.
Trump is at the center of a World Cup controversy, calling Gianni Infantino in hopes of overturning Flo Balogun’s red card suspension. FIFA insists he didn’t have any influence. That hasn’t stopped Trump from taking credit today.
Politics & sports, eh?

This just completely blows the right-wing narrative out of the water. WA's tax and spending policies have helped our economy thrive, even as Trump's tariffs and wars are creating significant headwinds. https://t.co/UGfMDW1Gwv
@hannahkrieg It’s a tell - they made the endorsement for other reasons (they hate Ron?) but won’t say it openly. They can’t make a case for Dreher on the merits and don’t try. It’s a sign of their further disconnect from progressive grassroots in the city.
There are only 2 real positions on housing:
1. We should build enough homes for everyone who wants to live here.
2. We should only build new homes for people who really *deserve* to live here.
Position #2 comes in left and right variants; but the outcomes are largely the same.
@hannahkrieg From the outside it looks that way to me, especially given it was on June 30 (last day of the month and maybe even the fiscal year, depending on how Noisy Creek does its books)
WA state now leads GDP growth nationally, with GDP growth of 4.5% compared to 2.1% nationally. Combined with national and international fawning praise from the World Cup, Seattle/WA Doomers are having their worst week ever.
Seems like there are folks on this site who need a reminder:
Anyone can be an American. Your family could have been here for hundreds of years or hundreds of days, you are still welcome here and on an equal basis as everyone else
This statue is in New York harbor for a reason.

Everyone wins (me included: investing in quality of life here benefits all of us. For example: hello, new waterfront & thanks for the every 10 minute transit in my 'hood!)

Seattle added 6,800 residents between April 1, 2025 and 2026 to grow to 823,400, according to new population estimates released Tuesday by the Washington State Office of Financial Management.
"isn't seattle tech just a bunch of AWS and MSFT employees?"
well, no. aside from having 25% of the AI engineers in the US, and the second largest pool of dev talent in the country, seattle is home to the engineering hq2's of the world's most important tech leaders.
we counted 55 seattle-based c suite execs from @AnthropicAI and @OpenAI to @nvidia and @Cisco ; from @PaloAltoNtwks to @CrowdStrike; from @Shopify to @stripe .
see the latest from @Natebek below.
