Taron Atwater's 18 points and Quinton Cruse's 17 helped the Warriors prevail. Nasir Johnson led the Patriots with 21 points.
Nansemond River 6’1 2027 Quinton Cruse works along the baseline and he had a big game scoring the basketball this morning. One of the top playmakers in his class in VA! #BigShots#JUCOPrepShowcase @BigShotsToday @BigShotsGlobal
I missed Nansemond River HS at the VWU Team Camp but I look forward to seeing them this this weekend at Henrico Sports and Events Center participating in the CBG x ASSIST JUCO Prep Showcase. They have two if the states top 2027 prospects in 6’1 guard Quinton Cruse @Cruse_Different (pic at left) and 6’5 wing Micaiah Mitchell @MitchellMicaiah (top right). They’re joined by 6’2 2026 Taron Atwater @Taronatwater (bottom right) a physical and fearless slasher type. I’m expecting big things also from 6’3 2026 Johnathan Smith a high motor paint presence. Coach Joe Hassell has done an outstanding job and enters his 2nd season and the Warriors figure to be one of the states top teams at least over the next two seasons! @BigShotsToday@BigShotsGlobal
That concludes Summer 2025 for Team Loaded 2027 Red with an overall record of 30-3. This team was gritty, talented, and most importantly they played together. It was an honor to coach such a special group of young men. I'm excited to see what the future holds for each of them. Bright days ahead! ⭐️💯

6’1 CG Quinton Cruse @Cruse_Different
Cruse was a good three-level scorer this weekend, attacking the rim with aggression, drawing frequent trips to the line, and knocking down shots from beyond the arc with consistency. On the defensive end, he was tenacious and tough—constantly applying ball pressure and using his length to generate a ton of deflections
