@CaribbeanRythms Cave diving is a subset of the audacity it took us to thrive as a species. The audacity to come down from the trees, to try to control fire, to cross the river, to build a boat, to climb a mountain to see what’s in the next valley over, etc.
@ParadiseCo_ I heard this climber talk one time, and she does these hours long pushes at high intensity. And she said she aims for 30 grams of sugar per hour for these climbs. But people are consuming way more than that and then sitting there watching a movie?! I drink 30g sugar I crash hard
@goddammitsarah The garbage isn’t an unfixable problem. The north side of the mountain that’s managed by China is clean. Nepal is heavily reliant on tourism revenue, and saying they should shut down climbing is another form of hubris. They’re trying to manage the mountain better.
@mcmansionhell I used to “read” many novels per week, but then when I was asked about them months later I could barely remember them. So was I really even reading?
