Former USDA scientist Gerald Zirnstein — the man who coined “pink slime” — now grinds his own hamburger because he refuses to buy store meat.

Here’s the truth:

In 2018 the USDA quietly reclassified pink slime as “ground beef.” It can now be mixed into any ground beef with zero labeling or disclosure.

Pink slime is beef trimmings once used only for dog food and cooking oil. The industry heats the waste, spins it in a centrifuge, sprays it with ammonia gas to kill bacteria, compresses it into bricks, flash-freezes it, and adds this cheap filler to most supermarket ground beef.

Zirnstein and fellow scientist Carl Custer warned it was a salvage product, not real beef. Their bosses — with industry ties — overruled them.

Zirnstein calls it economic fraud.

Your grocery store “ground beef” isn’t what you think it is.

To avoid the ammonia and byproducts, buy local from farmers, butchers and ranchers that verify their products are 100% pure beef.

I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. Illinois Islamist Lebanese cleric and Muslim Brotherhood member Sheikh Kifah Mustapha has called for Muslims to take positions throughout major American institutions, including law enforcement, federal agencies, the Pentagon, White House and U.S. Senate.

Speaking during Friday prayers, Mustapha said:

"We want Muslims in the police, as federal agents, in the fire department, in the Pentagon, in the White House. We want Muslims in the Senate…you name it. Because we believe that if we can produce leaders that still can hold on to some of these values, we can change the world, inshallah."

Mustapha is the Imam and Director of the Prayer Center of Orland Park and chairman of the Illinois Council of Imams and Scholars. He has also served at several other Chicago-area mosques and received a CAIR-Chicago Mobilizer Award.

Mustapha was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal Holy Land Foundation terrorism-financing case and was identified in court documents as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee.

The Muslim Brotherhood is considered the largest and best-organized Islamist group in the world, and is backed by Qatar and Turkey.

The Holy Land Foundation case ultimately resulted in five officials being convicted of providing millions of dollars to Hamas.
