🇺🇸 California moves to ban ICE’s new “shock gloves”

The G.L.O.V.E. delivers an electrical shock through an officer’s hand. DHS calls it a “de-escalation device” and says it has allocated $20 million for the technology.

California Democrats call the devices dangerous. DHS says the state’s ban is unconstitutional and won’t be followed, arguing California cannot dictate what equipment federal agents use.

The bill now heads to Gov. Gavin Newsom.
