Back in one of my earlier posts I covered Golden Pirate Base on @base.

This is a quick unbiased update — not a paid post, just what I’m seeing. 🏴‍☠️

Season 2 wrapped with over $4,000 paid out in rewards.

Top players got $500, $300, and $200. They expanded payouts to the top 40 this time (top 30 in S1).

The team also dropped over $1,000 to creators who posted about it.

Across both seasons that’s now over $7,000 total.

Solid.

Season 3 launched yesterday.

The core loop is still collecting daily Silver to open chests for Gold coins — those rankings matter most.

Your Crab mines extra Gold every day, Whale multiplies and holds the Gold from your chests, and Skeleton brings in more Silver automatically.

New addition: the parrot mini-game.

Collect parrots to enter the big Grand Pirate Raffle — more parrots equal better odds, but even one can still win.

You can also do daily tasks for extra Silver and invite friends to earn 50% of whatever Silver they spend.

The team announced they will widen contests, treasure hunts, and chest battles so more people have a shot.

Why this mini-game matters?

It gives a way to earn small amount’s of $USDC during slower markets just by playing consistently.

It also shows small teams can still deliver real rewards and keep users active on @base.

Potential risks?

Some players in S2 spent money expecting to make more but didn’t get it all back.

Important reminder: this is a game, not an investment.

No guarantee you’ll profit just by spending more.

Play for fun and support if you enjoy the build.

The higher you are on the leaderboard and the more active you are, the better your opportunity to earn — but it’s not a guarantee.

My take?

Golden Pirate Base fits right into Base’s 2026 vision — simple, accessible on-chain fun with real payouts, even from solo/small devs like @NotAMai_.

It’s the kind of grassroots stuff @jessepollak often talks about: apps that keep regular people active and transacting on the chain.

Worth a look if pirate stuff clicks with you.
