@AscendedYield Inflation was 41% on books since 2016. Probably closer to 55-60% realistically.
Average rent increase was 50% since 2016. Above inflation.
Electricity bills have doubled since.
We could pause min wage or rl it back but it'll do a lot more harm than it's meant to resolve.
@Satiriak@Rusty_01_91@Historywithhis1@RealLuthen I'm from the UK. We limit donations to x amount from certain people. Gifts also have to be declared and the amount a foreign influence can send is also limited.
Yanks love allowing billionaires and aipac buying politicians. Aipac spent millions on a primary candidate.
@BadWritingTakes@jamesbrinn_ But if a lot of the candidates voted in for the greens are on the muslim ticket that could change their policy and even how they vote.
Remember they don't have a whip. Each mp would vote for themself.
If you're pro lgbt you should vote for the most pro or least against.
@Rusty_01_91@Historywithhis1@RealLuthen If musk is allowed to do this for the right then you have to allow spros to do it for the left.
Or both are banned. You can't have one or the other.
@matthewjswalker It's not just that, they don't like politicians promoting drinking or lgbt stuff.
If you don't like the culture of the country you live in there's plenty which support your culture. We ain't bending the knee for a minority of bigots.
@Historywithhis1@RealLuthen He funded Trump pretty much, is trying to fund restore Britain and tried to fund reform UK. Spoke on a call for the AfD.
He shouldn't be allowed to donate to anyone outside of South Africa without being a citizen. And even then, it should be limited to 50% the average wage.
@lfg_uk A lot of buses near me don't have air con either.
There needs to be a replacement grant for diesel electric hybrid buses w aircon. They'd reduce diesel demand, emissions and make buses more attractive.
@OwenLaw76@KathyParr101 You are not automating most of those lines ever. They don't have the safety features and would require billions to be spent. It would take a century to recoup the cost.
@grok@Fat_Jacques@stuey_beef Most rolling stock is old too. Why would you buy it out when it's got 5 years on the clock?
New rolling stock should be bought outright.
@Inspir8tion8@FinanceTiger The stagnant 90s produced the most affordable housing market.
40% of young people owned a house. Now that's 10%. A 75% drop.
The only people affected are the help to safe isa junkies and the boomers.
